I saw this wonderful book barn on Tunstalls Teaching Tidbits earlier this year, and fell in love with it. I asked my husband, Sam, if he could make one, even though we had no plans or measurements. This is the finished product -- isn't it wonderful? We took it up to my classroom today and loaded it with farm books, added some stuffed farm animals, and put a tub of cowboy hats, bandanas and vests inside. I can't wait for my new kindergarten class to see it! I am so blessed to have a husband with skills!

My husband looked at Reagan Tunstall's blog picture and figured it out himself. Later she put these measurements and directions on, but ours isn't exactly the same because of the door width. You have to check both your classroom door and the door to the building -- we barely got it in. Here's her link:

He also put wheels on mine, which is a wonderful idea. He made ours out of 1/2 inch plywood and the shelves are made of 1/4 inch pegboard. If you need more info, just email annspencer29@aol.com.
